An organization fosters a culture of quality management when they are supportive of their employee’s continuous growth, through development and training and committed to customer satisfaction (Kreitner & Kinicki, 2013). Through empowerment and the development of leaders as well as employees, it shows there is an investment in their growth and employees will be appreciative of that. It will also allow for more efficient managers, leading to better performance. Kotter’s eight-step process for change is a great resource for leaders to follow when implementing a change within their organization (Kreitner & Kinicki, 2013). The reason I chose this specific model was because it focuses more so on the employee and their needs.

The first step in my project is to create urgency around my project and ensure that others can envision my change and be able to tie it into our mission. Once I have communicated my vision, I will reach out to others who are just as passionate as I am with employee development and innovation, this way they can help during the project. I will start off by providing a survey to gather feedback from my team and build upon my ideas for development programs and incorporate the feedback from others. This way I know what needs to be improved, what is working well and other ideas that employees have. Once I receive the feedback and analyze the results, the results will determine the route taken for development and remote employees. If there are barriers or improvements needed, then what better way than gather feedback from individuals to help the change process run smooth. The employees impacted by the change will know best as to what might work better and what is not working. By gathering feedback and empowering others it creates trust and will be easier to gain commitment during the process.

The only concerns that I have would be employees not being fully honest with their responses and feedback. Also, time may be a problem, most employees I will be working with are representatives who are phone support, so finding time to complete the necessary tasks could be difficult.
